Welcome to the highlights of the 250th WiX Online Meeting! Just 750 more until Meeting 1000. We celebrated that meeting milestone by introducing some important changes to how we build and communicate about WiX. Read on for the details.

Today is our 249th Online Meeting, which means our next meeting (in two weeks, as per usual), will be our 250th. If we'd held one Online Meeting a year, it would be our semiquincentennial, which is an awesome word when you break it down to meaning "half of five hundred years." Words are cool. Here are some more that aren't nearly as cool but aren't all bad.

Just about a month ago, we announced the availability of WiX v4 Preview 1 and the first preview of HeatWave Community Edition. Today, we're pleased to announce that the release of both WiX v4 and HeatWave Community Edition gets one step closer, with the release of WiX v4 Release Candidate 1 and the next preview of HeatWave Community Edition.

Today's meeting is the last in 2022: We agreed that a meeting between Christmas and New Year's Eve (or Day) would probably be sparsely attended, what with being full of Christmas goose and/or spiked eggnog. So we're pushing the next meeting to 5-January, which lines us up well for the next release candidate build of WiX v4 -- no, not -rc.1, that's tomorrow -- the one after that.

In a change of pace from the past couple of months, we're no longer working hard on and looking forward to releasing WiX v4 Preview One, because it was released as scheduled on 11-November. This should not come as a surprise to anyone reading this blog, because this blog is where we announced both and HeatWave, FireGiant's extension for WiX v4 in Visual Studio 2019 and Visual Studio 2022. So now we've switched focus to working hard on and looking forward to release WiX v4 Release Candidate One in the near future. For details, read on.
