Setup Matters

After some technical difficulties that Rob solved by turning everything off and back on again, we had a brief meeting to discuss WiX v4 status and the new scheduled release date. Spoiler alert: We're on schedule!

All our issues are about WiX v4. In fact, they're all about WiX v4.0-preview.1, which we've previously suggested could ship on Halloween. Will it? Well, see, Halloween is pretty scary, so read on for a schedule update.

After a couple of postponed meetings, we're back today to triage a bunch of bugs opened by a bunch of suspicious characters (Sean, Rob, and me). And oh yeah, we have a date for WiX v4.0-preview.1. Read on for details.

In proof that we truly live in the darkest timeline, all six of the six issues we triaged today ended up assigned to me. If that wasn't cruel and unfair enough, today is Star Trek Day, the most important holiday of my people. I'll just put on my ears real quick and get to work...

Two new issues and a handful of old issues to triage -- surely this would be a quick meeting? You might think so, unless, you know, you've watched any of the other 241 meetings we've held and seen how rarely that happens.

Today's meeting had more issues to triage than typical yet they were all opened by Rob, Sean, or me. Did we do this to punish ourselves? Maybe but mostly because we're encountering issues as we use WiX itself. That's good news for WiX v4's readiness for a wider audience. Soon!
