Setup Matters

This week, I was first to arrive for the meeting and it was Rob who forgot, in this case to send the meeting request the day before the meeting. Nonetheless we had a quorum and triaged six issues.

Microsoft just released details about new installation technology for Nano Server called WSA based on AppX. So today we finally get to announce the FireGiant AppX Extension for the WiX Toolset. With this extension the same .wxs source code can create AppX packages for WSA on Nano Server and MSI packages everywhere else.

Due to unforeseeable and amazingly complication reasons (I forgot the meeting started at noon PST), I wasn't around for this meeting. Luckily, Rob was ably assisted by Sean, who now has an understanding of the challenges and rigors of the job of meeting scribe.

Today we had seven bugs to triage, and in a change from recent weeks, all were new and none were carryovers from previous meetings.

Today's meeting started late, thanks mostly to a dead headset battery on my end, but was completed quickly enough that the meeting ended just about on time, in part because we had only four issues to triage.

Today's meeting was the first in its new time slot (Friday, noon Pacific Time). It might take a little while to get used to handling WiX triage simultaneously with early weekend happy hour here in the Eastern Time zone, but I, for one, intend to persevere.
