Setup Matters

Our last meeting was very short because we had no new issues to triage. Today's meeting isn't terribly long but we had a bunch of issues to triage, though only a few we could take action on.

Today's meeting is perhaps the shortest we've ever had. There were no new issues to triage and only a brief announcement from Rob. I will definitely spend more time preparing these highlights than the meeting itself took so in a philosophical sense, are they still merely highlights? These are the questions to ponder in the extra time we have available to us, thanks to a meeting that ends earlier than scheduled.

Welcome to the 167th WiX Online Meeting, the first since last Friday's 15-year anniversary of WiX's first open source release in 2004! Rob wrote about WiX's 15th anniversary here at Setup Matters and I did so briefly on my blog as well.

Today marks the 15th Anniversary of the WiX Toolset's release as Open Source. The impact of this "relatively insignificant geekware tool" (Time, 10 May, 2004) over the last decade and a half is profound. The largest software companies in the world use WiX to create installation packages for their flagship products.

Welcome to the first WiX Online Meeting of Northern Hemisphere Spring 2019! Today we enjoy the dulcet sounds of leaf blowers cleaning up the detritus of fall.

Though I personally prefer 24-hour clocks and little-endian day-month-year formats, it's hard to resist the nerdy joy inherent in the date 3/14 at 1:59PM. I might say it's just me but it's not just me -- Pi Day is a real thing, even just for other nerds. Anyway, enjoy the day even if contains no pies, pizza, or calzones (technically still pies).
