As you might have heard, WiX v6.0.1 is coming out and its coming out day is today. WiX v6.0.1 is now available for your packaging pleasure.

WiX v6.0.1 has been released
WiX v6.0.1 is a minor bug-fix release for WiX v6.0.0. It’s available today, 5-June-2025, two months after what would normally have been the WiXmas holiday of 5-April. WiX v6.0.1 contains a number of fixes for bugs affecting supported FireGiant customers and one I-can’t-believe-I-caused-that-bug bug that was severe enough to backport the fix from WiX v7. Here’s a list of all the issues that were fixed:
-
Bundle splash screen showing on removal of previous base version during upgrade, from @yuvnith, fixed by @barnson
-
Upgrading to Wix Toolset v6 Causes Build Exception, from @oollie34, fixed by @barnson
-
WixBundleSourceProcessPath and WixBundleSourceProcessFolder should be resurrected, from @barnson, fixed by @barnson
-
Extension decompilers support only their extension’s own tables, from @barnson, fixed by @barnson
-
Update registration disappears during upgrade., from @barnson, fixed by @barnson
